There are no translations available. Who We AreThis Area of Youth For Christ is made up of about 30 active national programmes spread across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa. There are around 650 staff and around 11,300 volunteers, and we have been working somewhere in the Area since the mid-1940s. YFC's strategic focus is to reach young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.
At the start of the 1940's Youth For Christ was just taking off in the United States, with Billy Graham and Torrey Johnson as the twin dynamos behind its spectacular growth. They did a tour of Europe around 1946 and sparked a vision in a number of countries of what might be done to reach young people. Almost 60 years later Billy is still around, cheering us on from the sidelines, and the organisation is still marked by its strong commitment to evangelism rooted in conservative evangelical theology, and with a firm desire to work through nationals in each country rather than imported missionaries.
